![]() "Um." She paused, looking down at our hands. My expression softened and I smiled at her. And finally there was a spark, and that spark ignited when I grabbed her hand that was resting at her side, entwining my fingers with hers. "Look at me." I responded, stopping in the middle of the dirtroad, staring at her, my gaze burning into hers. "Uh, Sugarcube, can I help you with somethin?" She asked. "Hmm?" She finally turned her gaze back to me and I studied her green eyes, looking for any telltale sign of attraction. "Applejack?" I asked, walking closely to her. Closer than I thought.īut, even if it did work out between us, what would her family think? They were all really traditional, would they take it well? Would they shun her for being different? I'm getting ahead of myself. Yeah, we had been friends since we were children, and we were the tomboy outcast in the school, so we were both kinda stuck together with one another. I had no idea that she thought of me that way. Me and Applejack had been friend for years. I looked down and felt my face grow hot when I realized what she was starring at. I finally turned and looked at her, her gaze flicking up at me before she turned her head, obviously embarrassed. I was busy watching the last final moments of the sun before it finally set, oblivious to the fact that Applejack was starting patiently at my chest, where the sweat beads were trailing down my shirt. The sweat around my neck, chest and shoulders were starting to become sticky and unpleasant-feeling. I shed the button-shirt that I had been wearing, sighing softly. "C'mon." Applejack put her hat on her head and walked with me down the hillside from her family's barn where we were storing apples for Big Mac and Applebloom to sort into the nets later on. Man of a few words, if there was ever one. "It's no trouble." Applejack said coolly, turning to her big brother. "That'd be great, but you don't have to." I shrugged hoping she didn't see me tracing the freckles along her nose and her cheeks just before. I straightened and shook my head a little. I sighed a little, realizing that I was starring at Applejack. I mean, she was cute enough with the blonde hair and freckles, and the amazing green eyes, but the accent? We've been at this long enough, and I hate to have to make you walk all by ya'self." Applejack replied. "I just wanted to know if ya wanted me to walk ya home, Sugarcube. "Sorry, what's up." I asked, flipping the hair out of my eyes and straightening up so that I was no longer holding the sides of the bucket for support. ![]() ![]() I turned to look at her, smiling sheepishly. I heard Applejack whistle and wave her hand in front of my face. The sun was starting to set over the horizon, and the temperature was starting to cool down, finally. I had been out here with Applejack all the live-long day collecting apples, and as much as I love spending time with her, I was tired. I sighed heavily, pulling the bucket full of apples that I was carrying down in the barn, breathing rather hard.
